Since the casino is just another form of onboard entertainment, it seems to me that the cruise lines would be better off using the European style wheel, (zero only), rather than the Nevada style (zero and double zero). Compared to blackjack and craps, the house edge on roulette is just too large. On my four cruises, the roulette table got little traffic, which makes sense, considering the awful odds.

Hi! I meant to post that message here, instead of to your personal email. Sorry. Does anyone have information on bidding or do's and don'ts for playing the Roulette tables?
There is no "strategy" for playing roulette, other than avoiding the five number bet. The house advantage on all other bets is the same: 5.26% of the amount bet.
roulette is simply luck however i have done very weLL w/ a couple lucky #S.THE TRICK IS 2 BET A SINGLE NO. OR THE 6 NO. BET.a one time five dollar bet on one no.@36 to 1 is $180.00 not bad walk away>>>>>>
I agree that Roulette is so much luck, but when I play I play two numbers on the line -- 17 - 1 pay off -- if it doesn't hit in 18 spins, I double my bet on the same numbers. If it pays, I go back to original bet. I don't waver from my numbers. More often than not, it works for me.
Some betting strategies seem to “work” for a while. However, in the long run, there is no betting strategy that can overcome the house edge. To quote Jimmy the Greek: "Nothing is as certain as death, taxes, and the house percentage."
