Prochlorperazine for SEASICK
I asked my Doctor if there was anything he could give me for seasickness
after the fact and not as a precaution.
I wasn't sure if I would be seasick and I didn't want to be drugged up if I didn't
need to be. I was honest with him and told him I was planning on having a few

He gave me Prochlorperazine 10mg.
Has anyone else taken this drug? Has it worked for you?

Re: Prochlorperazine for SEASICK
sis&I - prochlorperazine is the chemical name for Compazine. Compazine is effective for nausea, but it can make you drowsy. Of course if you are seasick and take the med the thing you want to do is rest.

I'm a pharmaicst...I must say that I prefer prochlorperazine to any of the over-the-counter meds or the scopalomine patch. I think it is much more effective. It can cause excessive drowsiness though...

Thank you Lisa and Valetina.

Hope I won't need the Prochlorperazine. But I'm very glad to get the thumbs up
from a pharmacist.

In my experience, for most people, bonine, (meclizine) works just great.
