Default Rough Seas in July?

Taking first cruise ever this July 18th, on Majesty of the Seas.
Hoping we do not encounter rough seas. Not sure that I can handle it too bad.
I have a fear of the ocean I'm trying to over come!
Sounds crazy I know, but have to go in July, kids out of school!

Has anyone else gone this late in July?
Can you share your story?
