Default Severe Allergic Reactions

Does anyone know if the ship is equipped to handle these situations? Would they have the epinephrine injections and steroids needed to treat such? Thanks!

I would hope that they do - but if you can get an epi-pen or two for the trip, you are better off.

Yes, we carry one of those with us, but are hoping that the ship's doctor on board will be able assist if that isn't enough. Thanks for your reply!

Good luck - I hope your (and our's) epi-pen is left un-needed during our trips.

Your best bet would be to have your TA call the cruise line and ask. If you get into a situation where your epi-pen doesn't help then you would have to know if the ship is equipped to handle a severe life-threating allergic reaction.

My doctor and his wife went on a cruise and she had a severe allergic reaction to shrimp. She had never had a reaction before. He went with her to the ship's doctor and told me afterwards that they did everything right. He said she could not have received better treatment from the best ER...or even from him!
Just a bit of reassurance.
