Just read an article in the Vancouver Sun announcing that Holland America is cancelling all Pacific Northwest cruises for the 2003 year. The article quoted Holland America's reasoning was "poor financial returns".
I was looking forward to a 3 day cruise I had booked for my 76 year young Mother and myself, on the Amsterdam. Oh well, I'm disappointed but what can one do?
As yet, I have not heard from my travel agent or seen any other announcements.
Don't give up yet! My travel agent checked with a supervisor in customer service at Holland America and was told the story is not true (guess you can't believe what you read in the newspaper). This was not an official with the company but I don't care, I just don't want to miss out on a nice time with my mother.
I apologize if passing on the story caused any problems, that was not my intention.
Royal Caribbean will no longer be having the short cruises out of Seattle on the Radiance of the Seas this year either Too bad . We have been on four of these three nights. It is a nice chance to get a taste of cruising between the annual longer ones. And very convenient for us since we live an hour from Seattle.
