Post Question on transfers

My wife and I will be sailing on the Westerdam on 12/3/10. We'll be purchasing our own airfare, but was wondering if we can purchase transfers "to the ship from airport" and return transfers after the cruise? I'd like to get the transfers, prior to arriving at Ft. Lauderdale Airport.
Also was wondering if it's easier to just grab a cab to the ship. BTW, anyone know the address where the Westerdam docks in Ft. Lauderdale?
One more question, please; I read that HAL offers a service for transferring your luggage after the cruise, where it's taken from the ship and delivered directly to your arrival city. Can you use this service if you book you air fare independently? Thanks for any advice.

You can hop a cab from the airport to the cruise terminal. It's a 5 minute ride away. HAL does offer a service to have your luggage picked up from the ship on return and delivered to your home airport. It's a great deal and lot's easier especially in view of recent activities. Have a great cruise!

You can purchase the transfers in advance from the cruise line. Just have your travel agent get them for, if that's what you want.

From/to Ft Lauderdale port and airport is so close, it's much simpler to take a taxi.... and not costly.

The ships are at Port Everglades, and signs showing which berth what ship is using are posted as you drive in.

Where does the Norwegian sail from - Miami or Fort Lauderdale?

This is a HAL board, so you might ask this question on the Norwegian board, if you haven't already.
