Default Tampa-Holiday Inn Express

Cruising out of Tampa in Feb 2005.

I found a deal with the Holiday Inn express, 99.00 (four of us) free parking for the duration of the cruise, 35.00 gets you to the port with all your luggage.

Is this a good deal or could I do better? Also has anyone stayed there? Is it a nice area?

Hey Donna!

I found the same deal last week. I have not stayed in that particular HIE, But I have satyed in one in Connectiicut. My DH and I were both very impressed. The rooms and public areas were clean, the desk clerk was friendly (even at 4 AM when we checked in), bathroom was bigger than average and the bed was very comfy. The free continental breakfast is better than I have seen at any hotel that I have stayed in. And what they say about the cinnamon buns is really true!!! Yummy!

Sounds like a good deal to me!!!

My wife and I stayed at a HIE some time ago when we cruised out of Tampa. We stayed at the one near the airport (3 - 4 miles) and also very near the stadium where the Bucaneers play. At that time it was newly reno'd and was quite nice with an excellent cont breakfast. Best of all - it was immediately adjacent to a steak house which served up the best steaks we have ever eaten. We had one before the cruise and made a point to also have one after we returned.

We are cruising out of Tampa in February also. We need a hotel for the night before and the night after the cruise. I was wanting a hotel that I could leave the van at and not pay the parking at the pier. How did you book it?

We stayed at the Chase Suites. They offered free parking and transporation to the pier. Also had a free breakfast. We're a large family so we booked a 2 bedroom suite which was $159/night. We're staying there again this year. I booked on-line. They're owned by Woodfin Suites so you have to get in under the Woodfin site.
