Looking for lodging convenient to Bayside. Or w/ shuttle to Bayside. Thanks.
Oh...by the way. How far is this from the airport? How far to the port? My only time in Miami we went from airport to the ship and never got a feel of it.
Do the hotels have shuttles? Cost vs cab...
And you thought I only had one question....
The most popular hotels in the Downtown Miami area are:
Marriott Biscayne Bay
Doubletree Biscayne Bay
Radisson Biscayne Bay
Hyatt Regency Downtown
Courtyard by Marriott Downtown
Comfort Inn Miami Downtown
There are other hotels in the area, but the ones above seem to draw the fewest complaints. The Holiday Inn Downtown and the Days Inn Downtown are normally cheaper than any of the above hotels (and pretty popular due to their price), but most people advise against staying at these two due to cleanliness/safety once they have stayed there. Bottom line is you get what you pay for.
The Downtown and Port areas are about a 15-20 minute cab ride from the airport. None of the downtown hotels have a shuttle from the Airport to the hotel, with the exception of the Days Inn, and that is only because that hotel is actually between the airport and downtown. Almost all have a shuttle or are a $10 cab ride from the hotel to the Port.
Am glad to see your comments about the Holiday Inn at Bayside. My family has rooms there for Nov 26th, Sailing on the Exployer on Sunday . Since I was the one to take
care of all that , I was hoping it would be nice . 2 dtrs and sons-in laws and
one mother in law and myself the other mother in law. We can hardly wait.
My cruise # 3 and the other mother in law 's first. . By the way, we all get along
We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami at least 5-6 times. We've never had a problem with security/safety issues. It is true that you should not meander too far from the hotel at night, but it is perfectly safe to walk nearby. We've always gone across the street to Bayside Market for dinner and never had a problem. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The last 2 times we have had a car and stayed on SB but this time we are flying and are staying at the Holiday Inn I may try to get priceline. But with the Holiday Inn you go right across the street to Bayside the Hyatt, Mariott it is a little bit of a walk and at night I suggest a tax1 as Miami can not be the safest place on earth.
