My wife and I (Marvin & Arnee Edgeworth) are arriving in Rio on 14 March 2009. We’ll look around Rio for a few days, and then board ship on the 17th.
We are confirmed for early traditional dining, and the upgrade fairy has been good to us so far – booked a guaranteed F and we’re up to ‘C’ already, with a possibility of more.
My wife and I are both 66 and live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m retired from the Air Force, but still working. I’m very interested in photography (Canon DSLR & far too many lenses) and beer (home-brewer and registered beer judge).
This is our first ‘long’ HAL cruise – only previous was a 7-day Alaska several years ago, and we really enjoyed the food, service, and general ambiance. Last April we did a Panama Canal cruise, Miami to Seattle, on Norwegian Cruise Line – we won’t make that mistake again.
I haven’t been to South America, so I’m looking forward to the scenery and port stops. My goal, this cruise, is to have at least one ‘traditional’ meal in each country that we visit. And yes, we’re bringing along some meds in case some of the food doesn’t suite me well.
Yes, I’d be interested in corresponding. If you’d prefer directly, I’m at edgew at cox dot net, but I’ll be out of town this Wednesday through Saturday on a short vacation.
