Have you looked at St. Thomas for snorkeling? Or maybe taking the ferry over to St. John's? The Best Snorkeling in Virgin Islands at Frommer's

I had plans to go to St Thomas a couple of years ago and I know there are 2 things I really want to do there. I want to go to Magen's Bay Beach Magens Bay Beach – St. Thomas USVI | Best Beaches in the World
And I want to take the tram up to Paradise Point and have a Bushwhacker! St. Thomas Skyride to Paradise Point - Ride The View - Home



I'm flying in on Saturday, too. We're all booked at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami, I think. Right TC & April?? And TC's friend Diane too, hopefully.

The trip over to St John is really nice with plenty to see but unless you have a super long day in St Thomas most of your day will be spent doing the ferry rides and taxis. We actually only had about 2 hrs at Trunk Bay and part of that was spent Listening to orentation and getting fins. There is a Cat called "Castaway Girl" in St Thomas that we have done several times for snorkeling and highly recommend. It is a ships excursion with pickup right at the dock.

Yep! we have our room booked at the Holiday Inn for Saturday night the code worked just fine! Scurvy start planning that party!

Wow, that place looks like fun, Scurvy! Most of the flights I've looked at don't get me to either Miami or Fort Lauderdale until at least 5. I'll definitely need a drink once I get there, since I'll probably be leaving Redding around 3am. It will be one long day. But my reward at the end is getting to see all my cruisemates!

Innocent one.....You need to move to a city that has air service.
If you are in FLL and riding the shuttle you can probably add 1-1/2 hours to that.

Ok so lets see if I have this right..
Most are staying at HI yet a certain individual who , it seems, is a Sooner fan yet speaks of a Texas company La Quinta as a good place to stay.

Now I see there are some who just can't resist doing B2B on every cruise they take! The Splendor sailing then B2B some other boat and Glory followed by some other boat.

Hmmmmmmmm. Must be nice.

One day y'all. One day it wil be US that will be on nothing but B2B's!!

Good afternoon, friends. I'm moving slowly today, but trying to get something done, just the same.

I make reservation at the HI, arriving on Saturday. Not sure what time we will arrive. I'll have to check, but usually we fly into FLL on Southwest Airlines. They are usually way cheaper than the other airlines, but I will check. Can't book SWA until 6 months prior to flight.

Me too Darlene, I will be flying on Southwest, but funny thing is I'll have to fly to Houston first to make the connection We may all end up on the same flight. I got this information by checking existing flight schedules and just assuming that they will be about the same in Feb.

This certainly sounds like a plan! We can fly out of IAH, but HOU is so much closer to us, than IAH (or Intergalactic, as we fondly refer to it!). Let me know what you find.

Yeah, Darlene, I had researched that shuttle a couple years ago when I was booked on the Valor. I posted the info on it for the BC4 group on another website, I guess I forgot to post it here! I think that one is by far the cheapest option.

Scurvy, you can forget the "go box". I'll be at dinner with y'all if I have to fly in on Friday to get there!

That's the one that the hotel reservation lady gave me when I booked the room iin Miami. I didn't call them yet because we have 8 months to worry about that! I'm going to stick with Southwest because of the 2 free checked bags and a carry on, and not to mention that they are a LOT cheaper than anything else I've looked at so far. Checking their Saturday flights, right now there is a flight that leaves NOLA at 8:15 connect in Houston .. leave Houston at 11:00 arrive Ft Lauderdale at 2:15. I hope it stays like that because I think it's a good time frame.

Last time I was in Miami I was on a solo cruise so I didn't prearrange anything. Just being flexible. At the luggage area of the airport I just looked for guy holding a sign for clients and went and asked him about a shuttle and he just added me to the group of ladies he was picking up. He was a SAS guy and the charge was $15. Easy!! On debarkation I walked to shuttle area and got one back to MIA for the same amount.

Ray, glad to know you've had experience with the SAS drivers. I have read both good and bad, so I wasn't sure. But $15 is a darn good price!

Linda, we have the same problem, we will most likely have to leave very early in the morning to get there at a reasonable time. Losing three hours and traveling across country takes 5.5 hours approximately. I think I am leaving at four am. Mike

Wow, Mike, you found a flight that leaves at 4am? Or do you mean leaving your house at 4am? I think the best I could find from Sacramento was leaving at 6am and getting into Florida around 4:30pm, but it was pretty expensive. Southwest didn't have anything that got there before 5:30pm.

Oh, I just saw that it's your birthday today!!!! Happy Birthday to you!!! We'll celebrate it very soon!

Hey Hey Hey, how is everyone!!!!!

yes, yes, I know I haven't been around for a few weeks...I forgot this meet on board got started......too much to remember and do to do everything...

I must say, I am excited to finally meet some of you! I've seen you around for so long I need to put a name to the face....Specially Ray, Phil/Liz, and Scurvy!!!!!! Just don't be disappointed when ya met me..me not the yummiest muffin onthe tray....I will be perky and happy to be there....and I don't even have to explore the ship either cuz I was on the Glory in January!!!!! I will check out the ship just to see how it was spruced up seeing as they started some of the work two weeks before drydock....I should know I had a team of Italian electrical workers doing some work outside my cabin and down the hall on Lido all week when I was on the Glory....interesting......

As for what I will do inport--if it is Free I'll do it!!! I do not think I will have much money, but I will have to see how much I can pick off the soon-to-die Money Tree in the yard.....I'll be at these ports, except Nassau, for the third time in just over a year....Now I got to think if I want to bring someone else along with me or make it a true solo cruise.....

Linda--cool, as for hanging with some other solos, Yipee!!!! It's fun having a solo cabin, but sometimes it does get lonely......

Meet n greet place--the Glory is nice, almost as nice as the Liberty....very subtle and Farcus didn't do any hallucanigenic drugs designing this ship like he did when doing the Valor......It will be a little different as it will have a sdeaside theater and it didn't when I went.

I am not planning on doing anything at all cuz the bloggers cruise activities is what I plan on going for...heck, Nassau is the only place I need to get off and explore or do an excursion.....

Flight/hotel--I have to keep tabs on flights and book it when I see it at a good price. I hope to get it for under $800 (Canadian). As for hotel, I'll likely go with the Holiday Inn Port of Miami cuz it is close to port and if a bunch of us are going to stay there we can arrange to get to the port together in one larger vehicle and only cost a couple of bucks or so each....

Looks like its between $609 and $641 USD right now with one stop.

I like flying with United or Air Canada. Both airlines have been good to me and not lost anything of mine yet....I can't say that the everything has gotten home in one piece, but it gets home. I always have crazy glue on hand to repair the broken items. Honestly, I think those baggage handlers LIKE to play a tossing game with the heavier pieces of luggage, or the more unique colored luggage...mine is peacock blue.......

St. Thomas snorkling--I'm gonna do a snorkling trip and I'll tell you what it was like....I have to practice and try to figure it out while at Half Moon Cay.....practice, practice, practice......

Now does anyone know of a good fertilizer for a nearly-dead money tree or the winning numbers for Wednesday night's lottery jackpot?

C'mon, September get here faster so I can catch up with the Liberty (and hopefully a hot Lithuanian stud muffin of a maitre'd)!!!!!!
