Default Catalina & Mazatlan

Ok, I have 2 questions for all the experts out there. In Catalina, do they have taxi service to take you to the golf course? We are looking at booking a round of golf but wondering how to get there from the pier. In Maztalan, does any one know of a resort that can be used for the day when coming in on a cruise ship? Thanks for any info.
Have a great cruise all!!

Just about everything in Catalina is within walking distance but I'm sure you can get taxi service to the golf course, albeit the taxi will more than likely be in the form of a golf cart as that is the primary mode of transportation on the island. When I was a young girl and visited the island in the early 60s, even golf carts were few and far between. There was an ambulance, a fire truck, the tour buses and that was about it. Now the island is over run with golf carts.

You can rent a golf cart just as you get off the ship. What better way to get to the golf course than by a golf cart??? Harry Martin is the expert here, but at at least one of the golf cart rental agencies, if you rent early in the day you get one free hour if you keep the cart for two rented hours or more.

After your golf, you can take a little self-guided tour of the island as well. Have fun!

You can also take the tram (a shuttle type bu) and it goes right past the golf course. It would also be a lot cheaper than renting the cart.

Here is a link to the feature article I penned last month about Catalina.

In mazatlan - I believe you can use El Cid (not the Marina El Cid, just the regular Golden Zone El Cid) for the day. They have a great pool, easy access to the beach, waiters etc.

Yes you can use the El Cid resort. There will be people when you get off the tram inviting you to the resort. It is for a timeshare presentation. The do provide you with transportation to the resort but not back to the terminal
Or you can just catch a cab and go straight to the resort. Just let them know that you are on a ship and they will take good care of you. They want you to stay with them should you do a land vacation.
Enjoy an ice cold margarita at the swim up bar.
Happy Cruising,
