Default Cruise Excursion Hopping

We'll be leaving for the Mexican Riviera on 9/4/05 aboard Carnival cruises. Would it be possible to book an excursion for a different cruiseline that will be there at the same time?
While the Carnival tours look good, I was eyeing a couple real neat Celebrity and Royal Caribbean trips that looked even better.

I would say most likely not.

However, what I would do is do a Google search for the tours that you find interesting and see whether you can book outside the cruiseline.
