NCL America will host "Live! With Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa" during the new Pride of America's five-day journey along the East Coast on June 18-24. The daytime show kicked off its "Cruisin' Reunion" contest today to take up to 1,000 winners on the cruise. Regis and Kelly also plan to broadcast their show live from the ship in Boston, Philadelphia, Norfolk and Miami, and during a day at sea. Separately, NCL America now has 200 employees already training on Pride of America as it nears completion in a German shipyard. Andy Stuart, NCL's executive vice president, marketing, sales and passenger services, says the U.S.-flagged brand is having a much more measured?and less frantic?introduction of Pride of America than was possible last year with the short drydock schedule of Pride of Aloha, which has guest satisfaction ratings at 93 percent.
