I apologize upfront if this is a repeated topic, but on other travel boards I frequent, there is talk that many tourist spots will not accept travellers checks due to fraud. Is this also an issue on cruise ships. We plan on bringing Amex cheques. Is there a limit as to how much $ per day (NCL) they will cash? Thanks again, Soon to be relaxed Sandy
I have used traveller's checks and never had an issue cashing them. But never had to cash more than a few hundred dollars worth at a time. I even used them to fund my onboard account with no problems. I usually take what I think I'll need to pay for excursions, on board expenses, little extras and any major ticket items go on my credit card (typically I do not buy major ticket items on cruises)
We enjoy and can afford to gamble (so please no anti gambling posts thank you very much and obviously Beenie this is not directed at you), so we may want to cash more checks than the average traveller. Does anyone know if there is a max per day? Thanks again, Sandy
You're safe here, I don't think you'll be attacked for wanting to use the Casino.
I know you can fund your onboard account with the TC's, so even if they do limit you ( which I doubt they do) you can gamble from the money you've deposited from your onboard account. There may be some sort of service charge involved to use your onboard account to gamble with, so check that out too.
