Default Dissembarkment in New Orleans

Anybody have any experience with dissembarkment on the Spirit? Would an 11:30 flight out of MSY be cutting it too close? In the brochure they say they have freestyle dissembarkment but when I called NCL to find out what that is, they just said I shouldn't get a flight before 12:30.

I am a firm believer in the later the flight the better. Why put that stress on your self-- can I make it or not, it will wreak your whole cruise.
The freestyle disembarkment (in a nut shell) is you can pick the time you would like to get off. Most ships say 8 am to about 10:30 am there about.
Once off you need to get your bags and go thru customs and get to the airport with out any traffic problems. They also have an express disembarkment or early walk off, where you take your bags with you and walk off when the ship is cleared by the port and you still need to go thru customs and get to the airport with out any traffic problems. Avoid the extra pressure at the end of the cruise, book a later flight and enjoy the last day without any stress.

We also recommend a later flight. Things can happen. The ship could be delayed, issues with Customs, traffic.

I'm with the other guys about having a later flight BUT if you must try this early thing plan on doing self disembark and don't bring home anything you have to declare (liquor). The drive from pier to a/p is about 30 minutes. Also, check in online and print your boardig pass on the ship.

Good luck

more later, but yesterday was a nightmare. I would not think of a flight before noon out of New Orleans.

Also, if it is Mardi Gras season (anytime between Epiphany and Mardi Gras) the traffic will be terrible so then you definately would have a problem.

Best advice is still to take a later flight, or spend the night and enjoy N.O.
