Someone should do a study of number of questions posted / days to sailing dates!
America's cup
Ok, anyone do this excursion? Have heard its a good one, but would someone who actually sails like it? Don't really want to go myself- but maybe the husband might like it -- if it's great , if it's just ok don't mind skipping this one.
Scuba
Where do the scuba trips go-- husband likes to take a dive trip on every cruise -- has done St. THomas a few times and would like to try diving on St. marteen.
I am a beach/shopper type -- so i can keep happy anywhere!
Hi Barb,
Both my husband and I will be doing the America's Cup in St. Maarten in a few weeks, will post back on how it was. I hear its very popular and fun, sure hope so.
Did the America's Cup and it is GREAT!! Didn't want to join my husband on it as we are power boaters not sailers and thought I would be a white knuckled sailer but would do it again in a heatbeat. It is the best excursion we have ever taken and have cruised 22+ times. Well worth the money.
We did some scuba in Dominica with a scuba shop right there off the dock. We dove a wall to about 80 feet, it was beautiful. We also did a dive in Tortola, BVI. We did 2 dives at the Wreck of the Rhone. We went through Baskin' in the Sun Scuba Shop.
We never tried the America's Cup, but am going to try it on our next cruise in April.
Barbra,
I can only vouch for the America's Cup Race. We were on the Golden 11/17/01 and my 17 year old daughter wanted to do this so she and I did. We had a good time, one of the best excursions I have ever done. I have no sailing experience and they still treated you nice.
Only advice I can give is do it as eraly as possible in the day. It can get really hot out there. Wear protection
