Default quiet time by the pool

Will be on Sun Princess December 30 and as a senior enjoy quiet time by the pool more than the various games. Never been on this ship and wouls appreciate input on a place, outside, to enjoy a good book and the ocean. Thanks and happy holidays, JP

I love the Sun Class ships.

My favorite place is at the very front, go up the steps passed the hamburger grill, all the way up and towards the front to the wading pool.

If you want quiet time by the pool, I would say sunrise to around 9:00am - 9:30am and then again after sunset. Remember you'll have a couple of thousand other people on the ship and I can bet on sea days, most will be by the pool enjoying it for its initial purpose - swimming and having fun which usually means noise. On port days, we find the pool area to be less crowded around lunch time until around 3:00pm.

Pool games and music are at the main pool area in the center of the ship. Quieter times can be had as indicated above up top in the front of the ship, or all the way at the stern. The music and cruise staff don't seem to make it to either of these areas.
I too like some quiet time to focus on a book. I love my sea days.
Happy Cruising

Thanks one and all. Look forward to it. Incidentally, speaking of quiet time, my last two cruises I took along a Bose noise abater-- great headphone that wipes out 90 % of loud noises and plays great musin. Not cheap, but great performance. JP

There are several pools on board. The main pool will most likely have a lot of activities but the smaller pools or upper sun deck will be quieter.
