Default first night dinner/lunch

On the first evening of the cruise (Saturday on ours) what is the required dress for dinner?

Can you wear pretty much anything at lunch every day? Jeans? shorts?

We are doing the Island Princess leaving Whittier on July 3.

Any pointers are extremely welcome.

the dress code for the first night is casual. Nice pair of dockers/cargo pants with a collar shirt (polo type) and casual shoes for the men/boys. For ladies/girls - capri pants with a nice shirt & flat sandals are perfect as is a nice pair of cotton or linen pants and a nice collar shirt or blouse. This dress code applies to all casual nights. ( pack a change of clothes for dinner in your carry-on)
shorts are allowed in the dinning rooms for breakfast and lunch only
Jeans are too hot for the Caribbean and they are not allowed in the main dining rooms during dinner.

You can were whatever you want the first night. The staff is very understanding about people not getting their luggage until late sometimes, so basically anything but shorts is a go. If you really want to wear shorts, the buffet will fill you up. Enjoy!
