Default Disembarking in Galveston

We're sailing on the Grand Princess, which returns to Galveston December 3 at 7 a.m. We also plan to go to the Big 12 championship game at Reliant Stadium in Houston at noon. We're parking at a lot in Galveston with shuttle service.

Is there any way we can arrange to leave the ship relatively early in order to get to our game in time?

This is our first cruise. Thanks!

Hi,
Request, with emphasis, that you're part of the '' earliest off'', and do that right at check-in when you fill up your disembarkation forms.
Those forms are used by the onboard crew to organise debark operations while you're on the cruise.
Those with '' early flights'' ex Houston get off first....as well as those who have emphatically requested to be first off although they are classified as '' independents'' ( i-e: your situation, being on your own, no flights, ect ect...). Every guest receives a '' color tag'' the night before debark, and that tells them which order they will called off the ship after the authorities clear it for debarkation.
It will also help if you can carry your own bags out ...as opposed to put them in the hallway the night before ,for the ship crew to offload them for you: that means you have to go thru the additional steps of finding your bags on the '' luggage floor area'' in the pier building...they're orderly located but ut adds time to your getting the heck out of the place, get the car and drive up. So, '' tough it out'' and keep all your bags with you.

Happy sailing
Cheers
CG

Thanks so much!

I didn't know that carrying our own bags off the ship was an option. That will definitely help! We'll be sure to pack accordingly.

Yes check with the main desk and get color of baggage tags that will let you off first or close to it. You should have no problem making the game.
