Default Back from the Caribbean Princess

We just got back from the CB and a couple of days in Ft. Lauderdale.
The Caribbean Princess was hands down our best cruise so far. We have cruised Celebrity twice and RCCL once(which were all good), but it felt like home on this voyage.

Check in was a breeze, as we arrived at the terminal at 11 and were on the ship at noon. We had a balcony cabin on the Riviera deck. Our cabin steward Vitor was terrific all week. Food was very good(we had anytime dining) and never had to wait for a table. We enjoyed the Sterling steakhouse. The entertainment was good in the theatre, but we enjoyed the lounge acts better, especially Steve Moris. In St. Martin we did the day tour with Victor Bryan(t)? and in ST. Thomas we had a wonderful day with Sunny Liston.

I would be happy to answer any questions, as I sured learned a lot from this site.

Bill and Leslie

Glad you had a great cruise as we will be on the Caribbean Princess
2/18 for the 3rd time.
What was Steve Moris's act?
Thanks

Steve Moris is comedy, and he has a musical genius that plays into his act. He is Seinfeld-like with his observations. Very clean, enjoyable act.

We just got off the Millenium, how does the Princess compare? In regards to food and service?

We were on the Caribbean Princess in December and loved her. Vince and Anna (bartenders) in the Wheelhouse were outstanding!

I think the Caribbean Princess had more to offer than the Millenium with the various entertainment venues, as the Explorers lounge and Club Fusion, which are like "mini-theaters" that offer great entertainment that varies nightly. As far as the food, I think it was equal to the Millenium. We just loved the anytime dining....it made for a more relaxed cruise knowing we could go to dinner whenever we were ready. Also, the fresh water pools were nice, especially the adults only aft pool at the rear of the ship. There were no more than 10 people at any time all week, it was a great place to chill with a drink and a book!

A week ago we were just disembarking off Caribbean Princess, and we loved it so much! Okay, so it was our first cruise but I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Just got off the Caribbean Princess last week and the previous week the Star Princess and there are many pluses over Celebrity which we have sailed over 10 times. Many are mentioned in the previous note. The anytime dining is great and we never waited a minute to be seated. The passengers are much more active and participate in the many activities. The champagne pyramid in the atrium is a hoot with free champagne for all while they pour into the top glasses. The shows in all lounges much better than Celebrity with Bert in the piano bar playing to standing room only every nite and Sarge one of the funniest ever seen. The cold water seafood feast on sailaway is to die for and includes lobster, king crab ,shrimp, and smoaked salmon.Princess Cay is a great island and is similar to Holland Embarkation is the best of any line and Iam comparing to over 40 cruises. We waited only 30 mins.for our number to be called and no wait at all to get your ship card etc.Room was ready at noon and lugaage shortly thereafter. Will go again.

BILL AND LESLIE,

I'll be going on the same ship in Sept....

1. Does the bed need the egg crate?
2. Did you try any room service..and if so, how was the food?
3. What kind of Trivia games did they have? is that a daily thing?
4. Is Bingo everyday?

Thanks so much!
Foggy

Foggy.........We didn't have the egg-crate as the bed was the most comfortable so far. We usually had room service breakfast, there is nothing like coffee on the balcony. I do remember trivia at least once a day, and I think bingo was at least every other day. We loved the Caribbean so much that we booked the Crown for this coming January.

Foggy, we did order the egg crate bed, and it was most comfortable - so was all the bedding and pillows.
I have to say, CP had the BEST sail away party I've ever attended, so much fun, music and dancing.

Cruisingalong, did you get to see Bert Stratton's act on CP?
He was the highlight of my cruise.

If Bert was on this cruise I would be interested to know if he actually finished a song .

Donna.......We tried to see Bert everynight....what energy that man has!
While the production shows are so-so, I give the "other entertainment" a A+. Besides Bert, we really enjoyed Steve Moris. We are hoping the Crown has similar quality entertainment.

So glad for the info on this ship. We are sailing that ship next May and I was hesitant because of the large size. We sailed on Sapphire Princess & loved that so we were hoping that this would be the same. Everyone talks about that Bert, so guess that is one act we just have to see. Thanks again!

We will be on the CB over my birthday in Oct.! I can NOT wait! It will be our first time with this cruise line. Lik you - I have sailed RCL & Celebrity as well as Carnival. If any of you have the Patters from the E. Caribbean on the CB I'd love to see them. Let me know if you'd be willing to send them off to me. We have 2 other couple going with us on this cruise and none have sailed Princess before. So we are all getting anxious to get on the ship.

We just came off the crown which also has a sabbatini's. I would assume, same menu, service, etc. It was WELL worth the $20 a piece we paid. They had us choose an entree and they then proceeded to give us samples of EVERY appetizer, salad, soup, etc. It was fantastic and so was dessert. My husband had a stuffed chicken breast and fussy eater that he is he loved it. I had a lobster tail and my mom and aunt did too. None of us complained. Hope this helps

Default cabin question on CB

My husband and I are on the Rivera Deck, balcony cabin - R517 when we cruise in December. We're renewing vows and wondered if the balcony is 1) covered and 2) big enough for 3 people standing out their comfortably?

Thanks so much!

The balcony is covered, but more than 2 people would not be comfortable.

I was looking at booking a mini suite on the Dolphin deck. I have been told that it is completely open. I'm not sure I am interested in standing on my balcony and having the people above me looking down and watching what I am doing.

We were on the riviera deck and could see the balcony rooms on two floors - it gives you no privacy whatsoever. The balconies looked bigger than ours but is it worth a bigger balcony to have everyone up above watching you? Ours had a table and two chairs, it was fine, though I must say I did like having a lounge chair on the carnival cruise we were on. They tell folks not to smoke in their cabins but some acquaintences of ours said they saw cigarettes being tossed from the balconies. Who would want that landing on top of them?

We haven't been on the CP since last Feb and I still think it has the best food. We've recently been on the Diamond P & the food was also good but there was something special about food on the CP.

We are on the Caribbean Princess on Feb 17th. Go to www.cruisethecaribbeanprincess.com for a site devoted to the ship. It has everything including patters and menus for all seven days, plus much more. With regard to Dolphin deck minisuites: We were on the sister ship Grand Princess last Feb. in a mini suite. Yes the suites above you can look down on you, but we didn't find it to be a problem (no cig butts). If you however have visions of doing very private things on your balcony (wink, wink) don't get a dolphin minisuite.
