Default ROYAL PRINCESS ... HOW SMALL IS SMALL?

LAST SUMMER I SAILED THE EMERALD .. THIS JULY I'M ON THE ROYAL ... I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FOOD, SPACE, ETC. ANY INFO WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED . THE EMERALD HAD OPEN DINING, THE ROYAL DOES NO OFFER THAT SO I AM WONDERING ABOUT THE OPTIONAL BUFFET.

Hi,
I was on the New Royal Princess for New Years. It is a refurbished Renaissance ship and will seen quite different from the Emerald as there is no atrium to speak of. Rooms are small, dining is 1st and 2nd seating but there is a nice buffet upstairs and they will serve a quiet dinner every night from a set menu. We took advantage of it quite often as the dining room was busy.
we met the godmother Lorraine Artz and she is a piece of work and you will enjoy her.
Shows are in a very small showroom and the dancers also work during the day as the cruise staff with the trivias and games.
Casino is very small as are most of the public rooms..very intimate if that is what you are looking for.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi,
just got off the Royal, did the Transatlantic 23 day.The small ship was wonderful. got to know everyone on the ship. Staff very friendly as well. Nice thing was getting on and off the ship in ports. Very organized and never a crowd or wait. The ship went to ports where the large ships couldn't go.
Food was good. The entertainment was great. Even though the showroom was small, it didn't present a problem (two shows a night). Shows more crowded for early seating passengers and pretty empty for 2nd sitting. I am totally spoiled and don't know if I can go back to the large ships.
Cabins were nicer than larger ships as balcony cabins all had sofa . The newer Princess ships don't have that .We had BB category on deck 7 midship.
Regards,
Gloria S.
