Default Celebrating special occasions onboard

My DH, DS and I will all have birthdays within about a month of our cruise. It says that you can tell them about special occasions and they "want to help you celebrate it in style". Does anyone know what they do for a birthday celebration (not paying for a package but just what they do if you enter the info in the cruise personalizer)? We don't really want a chorus of "happy birthday" at the dinner table but thought it would be fun to mark the occasion. Thanks!

You'll get balloons outside your cabin(s) on the date you specify to celebrate (suggest you do it early - very helpful to spot your cabin that way). The balloons stay up the entire time of the cruise.

As to the dining room, speak to your waiter or headwaiter and they'll arrange one, two or three nights when you'll get a very small b'day cake - and yes, singing ... if you're at Traditional. If at Anytime, then mention it early that evening to the waiter and you'll get the cake. If it were an Anniversary, you'd get a bigger cake.

We're celebrating a aniversary when we go, so will we get ballons & cake if we don't pay for the extra stuff?

You don't pay for the extra stuff and yes, you get the balloons and cake for anniversaries - again choose an early date when you fill in the info on the Cruise Personalizer ... even if that's not your real date.

I was on the Coral Princess on my exact birthday. I got baloons on my door. We told them twice in the dining room that it was my birthday, but they did nothing to acknowledge it. The crew on the Coral sucked this summer when I was in Alaska. I hope they have a complete turn around by the time I get back on it for the Panama Canal.
