Checking in @ Ft. Lauderdale
The last time we boarded at FFL there was a huge lineup. When we got to near the front we were immediately pointed to the Platinum check in. So we where wondering if we both have Platinum, do we need to get in the long line in the first place. We do not want to appear rude and jump the line, but if we are entitled to do that, then I guess we would.

Actually only one of you has to be Platinum and can bring the other along. You won't be jumping the line but taking your rightful place in the Platinum/Elite line.

Any cruiser regardless of status, must check-in. Proper ID must be established for each passenger.

Irish Shark...I was not asking wether we had to check in or not...the question was just wether or not we could head straight to the platinum check in or if we would have to get in the long line first. Thanks.

OK. Misunderstood your question. Just go to the VIP/Platinum line.
On our last cruise out of FLL for a tans-canal cruise, the "greeting" folks directed us to the VIP line.

I would ask the person directing you to a line, where is the VIP line and go from there.

Hi from another Torontonian!
When was the last time you checked in at FLL? we boarded the Ruby there this last Decemeber. They had a clearly marked, separate line for Platinum/Elite. And since most people already filled out their info online, the lines moved very fast, we weren't there for more than 10 minutes even in the regular line.

Hi Toras. We were at FLL last March but we must have arrived at a bad time as there was a huge line-up outside of the terminal, plus a ton of people inside the terminal. We waited in the outside line and when we got to the terminal door we got scooted ahead to the Platinum check-in.

A good tip- always fill out the online information before hand and it speeds things up. Bob

You can go online to view your current status in the Captains Club program.
The lines are always busy and from 12:30 pm forward, the lines get longer.
Check-out time at most hotels is 11:00 AM, so head right to the ship and carry your luggage with you.
You will be in your cabin and unpacked and in line for lunch by 12:30 PM.
If you read the fine print on your contract, Princess is not responcible for your luggage, so think about what I said.
