Default Voyager-ships cards

After reading through a couple post someone had mentioned about the photo ID on Voyager...what do they use when you get off and on the ship? When we were on the Dawn we would put our card in a machine when we got off and on...just curious what Voyager will use...

Hi vicky we were on Voyager march 2000 and at that time they did not use photo id to get on or off the ship but i believe they are going to start a system similar to princess maybe they started it already.
have a great time we did and really loved the ship.
Ceddie.

Vicky,
I sailed on the Explorer at the beginning of January. When you board the ship, they take a digital photo of you. Your id card does not have the photo on it but when you get on and off the ship, you have to swipe your card. When you swipe it, your digital photo appears on the computer monitor for the crew. That way if there are any questions about your identity, the photo is right there for them.

That is quite similar to the system used on the Dawn Princess when we were in Alaska. Unfortunately by the time we reached Juneau, the system was not operating. I would hope by now that they have worked out the bugs in the system. Sounds like a good security advance.
