My husband and I are going on the Rhapsopdy (Key west, Grand Cayaman and Cozumel) this June. How is the ship, service, rooms, etc.? Any suggestions for the trip?
Hi Kaitlin,
We were on Rhapsody a few years ago when she was doing the southern itinary and loved the ship. Lots of nice art work through out, lots of windows. I think you will love the ship. Service and entertainment were great, enjoy!
We were on the Rhapsody in March; just two weeks before it was dry-docked for refurbishing. It is a beautiful ship with lots of open deck. As previously posted, there is really pretty artwork all about the ship. It is a truly classy ship with great service and good food. Have a great voyage!
never been on the that ship, went to Cozemel and Grand cayman. We went snorkeling in Cozemel in front of a hotel..sat and had apetizers and drinks..waters we're great...this was last June.Grand Caymen-we really enjoyed Sting ray city!!!Beautiful shallow waters...and the stings rays!!!!!!! It was a thrill!! Have a great trip!!margie
We were on Rhapsody for the Mardi Gras cruise in February. We had cruised on Splendor and Legend in Europe and loved these ships - the size and layouts were absolutely perfect for us.
In April of 2001 we cruised Hawaii on Infinity and while it was a beautiful ship we both agree that we preferred Rhapsody and look forward to cruise with her again.
Just returned from this cruise May 4th. Ship was a major disappointment when compared to other RCCL ships. Shabby ship, bad food and bad service. A okay trip for first time cruisers, but one I would NEVER book again.
Kaitlyn,
We just returned Sunday from this cruise - we thought Rhapsody was wonderful!!
Some posters here have not had a good experience - but every day was a pleasure - our dining room staff and room steward bent over backwards to pamper us - and the ship is gorgeous! We spent most every morning in the incredible solarium - nothing else to compare it to on any other cruise line I have experienced.
Book Stingray city in GRand Cayman - lots of fun! Don't forget your underwater camera!
I suggest the "personalized" tour - only about 20 people on a smaller boat. Book online at RCCL.com and they will deliver tickets to your room when you board.
Also, fill our embarkation forms on-line and get through the lines at the pier faster.
Happy sailing! Wish we were going with you - we are still in Rhapsody withdrawal!!
Thanks Cindy! I have two questions for you. Did you hear anything about Captain Marvin's or Red Barron tours to Sting Ray City? Also, did you try any of the specialty restaurants? If so, which one's and can you recommend anything? We are first time cruisers and every little bit helps! Thanks!
We did stingray city tour through RCCL.com shore excursions.
We also heard Captain Marvin's was great, but since we had to tender to the dock in GRand Cayman, we were scared of missing our excursion or getting back late to the boat. If you use an independent company - you are on your own. If you book through the cruise line they will wait for you if your tour is late returning and make sure your get to tender off the boat first for an early excursion. That was our rationale for booking through the ship.
NO specialty restaurants on Rhapsody - but since most every dinner was a"theme: - Italian, etc. there was variety on menu.
