I was on the RC Majesty in Nov. last year (we got a refund & a free cruise) and will be on the Sovereign on May 4. I've heard they are pretty much identical ships. What do ya know about this? Thanks.
The Sovereign is very similar to the Majesty. My husband and I enjoyed both. We had been on the Majesty with you, and just got back from a 7 night to the western caribbean ( we took our refund and upgraded our free cruise). We went on the Grandeur. Talk about a beautiful ship. Hope you have a great time - and don't forget your jeans and sweatshirt on coco cay.
Hi! Why jeans and a sweatshirt? Oh! Where you the ones who were stranded overnight? Is this what you mean? Just want to make sure you weren't serious. Thanks!
cajungirl - We were stranded and if there is anything I learned from it, it was always to be prepared. Sweats fold up really small and if that which "has never happened before" happens to you, you'll be warm.
Sovereign and Majesty are very much alike. We have sailed both ships and had a wonderful cruise each time. We personally like Majesty better. The cruise director is fantastic as is the entertainment.
I would not hesitate to sail either ship again.
And, you poor people! Getting stranded like that! We almost had something similar happen when we did Sovereign. A boat load of folks were on the island and the rain started pouring and the wind was blowing pretty good. The folks did make it back on board though. We just knew the seas were going to get pretty rough with all of the wind, but surprisingly they weren't that bad at all.
Thank you all for your help on this question. We have only 48 HOURS til sailing on the Sovereign (May 4th) and my cruisemate has never been on a cruise (my 19th).
I can't tell which of us is more excited!!! WHOOOOO - HOOOOO !!!!!
I'm glad to learn that the ships are similar, as I REALLY liked the Majesty.
Hey, Dreamweaver, how was your cruise? Hope you had a good time. We just booked the SOS for a trip in August. How did you like the ship? Just curious, could you give me a brief idea your impressions of RCCL, and the SOS (have never cruised RCCL before); food, entertainment, etc.
I will be bringing along my twin 12 yr. olds and 11 yr. old sons.
