My family and I are cruiseing to the Panama Canal on Splendor of the Seas on Dec. 21 and will be flying into the Houston Airport. I am completely unfamiliar with that area and am curious if others have travelled there. How far is the airport from the port of Galveston? We have transfers included with our cruise. Just curious about distances and length of time to get there. Thanks.
If you are flying into George Bush Airport (North Side) it will take you about 1 hour and 15 minutes or so. If flying into Hobby Airport (South Side) it will take a little over 1/2 Hour.

Are you flying in on Sunday the 21st or Monday the 22nd ?
My schedule shows the Rhapsody and Elation on Sunday, and the Splendor
on Monday. If you have the transfers from the airport, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the
beautiful state of Texas. (as much as you can see from the interstate, that is.)
We live in Houston (Clear Lake City). After arrival at Houston Intercontinental, the length of the trip will depend on the time of your arrival into Houston. If it is early in
the morning, you will be traveling into town with very heavy traffic. It could take up to an
hour to get into town and then another hour to get to the Galveston pier. So, it could
take up to two hours, maybe less, depending on the traffic.
It is approximately 60 miles from Intercontinental Airport to the Galveston pier.
If you are coming into Hobby Airport, it wil take about an hour to 1 1/2 hours to get to the pier. Again, depending upon the time of day and the traffic.
Houston has VERY HEAVY TRAFFIC most week days. And, the construction situation doesn't help things.
