My family and I have cruised many times - mostly on Princess and Celebrity. we would like to try something different for a cruise to the Western Caribbean and are considering RCCL. Which ship do you think we would be most pleased with given our past experience and/or are we going to be disappointed ?
Without a lot of information as to what you like best about cruising, I'd suggest trying one of the "Radiance" class ships. They don't offer quite as much to do onboard as a Voyager class, but beautiful ships. If you like a lot more activities while cruising and going with kids then the Voyager may be better...
My husband and I expect excellent service and great food ( the dining concerns me on Royal Caribbean) . As far as activities, we tend to relax and read while my daughters are "go, go,go"! We usually go it on our own for shore excursions.
I have been a big fan of Celebrity too so I think Donna's advice is very good. The Radiance class would probably do the trick for you. I think the BRILLIANCE has had many excellent reviews by pax who have done Celebrity and RCI. The JEWEL will be coming to the Caribbean next fall. We are booked on the JEWEL for the repositioning cruise from Boston to the Caribbean on 10/28/04...The JEWEL will be spectacular and at least the equal of the BRILLIANCE.
We sailed the Explorer to E. and W. and loved it. We haven't sailed the smaller RCCL ships, but have sailed Celebrity Summit, which is close in size to the Radiance and loved it, too. Either class would be fine, but we just love the BIG ships.
