We loved the Radiance last year, it was our 2nd time on her. We left May 31 (I think) and the wx co-operated. We had drizzle on the 1st day, and coming in to Juneau. Prepare for a mixed bag of weather. Ketchikan was warm, and the last sea day the pool area was quite busy.
Try Chops Grill once, the food and service were fabulous. In Skagway, we took the noon White Pass train trip. We shopped in the AM, and after the train poked around for a while. Juneau we got off the ship and paid $10 each for a ride to Mendenhall Glacier. Juneau we took the Horse-Drawn trolley tour. Hubbard Glacier was great, should have brought my telephoto lens.
Being from Vancouver, our tastes may differ from yours-we've seen the coast many times before. We met a girl from Hawaii and her reasoning was that if she was going to travel all this way,and pay all that money, she was going do the excursions she wanted. If you're paying good money to travel to Alaska , don't cheap out on excursions!
