Default toilets

Hi!
This is probably a silly question but I recently read a post on review of a ship where they talked about it being important to stand up before flushing the toilet on a cruise ship. They joked about a friend not doing that...and being sorry...

Since I never cruised before, I wasn't sure if there is something about the toilets I don't know???

Thanks!

THe suction is strong. I mean VERY VERY strong. Make sure you do stand up or you will be sorry. Haha.
Happy Sailing!

Yes, it is a suction thing. They do have a sign over the toilet telling people to close the lid before flushing. It's somthing that is a joke on every cruise.

The flush button is behind the lid, so it isn't hard to remember to close the lid to flush.......it's kind of tough to press the button while seated without dislocating your shoulder!

The first time I flushed the toilet in our cabin it scared the life out of me! Actually, I never really got used to it, not only did I stand up, I got as far away as possible. I even said to my husband that the flush was so strong it could probably suck in a small child lol
YIKES!
