I am sailing on the Explorer and my parents are getting a balcony cabin. My sister and I will be across the hall in a promenade cabin, usually we have been in an inside cabin. Is there a particular part of the ship that a promenade cabin would be better?
The closer to the middle and front of the ship, the better. The first grouping (looking from the rear of the ship) of six cabins towards the rear will not give you much of a view of the action. I am not sure about the second grouping of six cabins?
As far as which deck, I preferred to be down on 6. Many people on the boards have said they would prefer deck 8 so that nobody can look down into their cabin from across and above. The bottom line is there that if you have something that you are doing that you don't want the outside world to see, close your drapes.
Just returned from Navigator cruise and my teens were across the hall from us in a promenade cabin on deck 7. They loved the room, and had a birds eye view of some of the parades and promenade activites that sometimes become very crowded.
My friend and I have one on the Adventure too. Thanks for all the information!
