We are sailing next month and are looking for an exursion to do in St. Thomas. We are traveling with two teenage boys, 13 & 15. Anyone been on the following exursions? Any and all advise would be great!!!
Turtle Cove Sailing & Snorkeling
Captain Nautica's Power Raft Snorkeling Tour
Sea Blaster Snorkel, Speedboat and Sightseeing Tour
We did the TurtleCove snorkeling. The crew was a lot of fun, they do things like throw water on your sons and joke around with them such as making them walk the plank. Everyone got tatoos on the way back. The snorkeling was wonderful, we saw the turtles, plus lots of tropical fish. The guide feeds the fish dog food, and the fish come right up to your face. On the way back they serve the adults, strong drinks, the kids sodas and everyone eats Nachos and salsa. I think all of these excursions are run by the same company. I have the webpage, because they take your pictures and then you can download them. . .for free. Here is the address: www.doubloon.com It is a well run outfit, I am sure the other excursions are fun also.
Have done both the doubloon and Captain Nautica's. Enjoyed both for different reasons. They both go to Turtle Cove but Captain Nautica's also takes you to Honeymoon Beach at St John due to the fact that you are traveling about 40mph in a very fast boat. The doubloon only goes to Turtle Cove and is a wonderful experience but just at a slower pace. If you and your boys have a need for speed then Captain Nautica's is the way to go.....if you just want to rest and relax as you come and go to the island then the Doubloon is the way to go. Both crews are fabulous and your trip no matter which one you choose will be memorable. Have fun!!!!
Took Captain Nautica's tour last year with my 14 year old nephew-really enjoyed it! You are on a zodiac type craft that flies, both snorkeling spots were excellent and you were served shrimp cocktail on the way back. Highly recommended!
