Default Freeport Harbor Under Renovation?

Does anyone know if the Freeport Harbor is under renovation? If so, for how long? Will that keep the ships from docking there? We're cruising early September 2004. If we do have to go somewhere else, has anyone heard where Royal Caribbean will take the Grandeur of the Seas for the September 4th cruise if not there?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this means anything, but we are sailing on the Grandeur on Sept. 24th. When we booked the cruise is said Freeport was one of the stops. And now on the website it says Grand Bahama instead. So I've been wondering if that is a different port as opposed to Freeport? Perhaps this is a clue?

I thought that Freeport was on Grand Bahama Island. We were there the last cruise of the Voyager of the Seas.

Elen: Yes, Freeport is on Grand Bahama..it's the capital I believe. Sorry if my post was confusing. What I meant was I wondered if we are docking somewhere other than Freeport when we get to Grand Bahama.

Thanks for the info/reminder! I must've either overlooked that info last week, or it was just updated because I just checked my itinerary on the RCI website. We're definitely not docking at the Freeport Harbour in September. The itinerary was changed from "Freeport" Bahamas to "Grand Bahama" Bahamas. I don't know how far the two are from each other, but based on the fact that they changed the itinerary, I would think that we're not docking at Freeport.

Anybody KNOW for sure otherwise? I want to plan our day for exactly where we're to be dropped off, so to speak.

Thanks!
