Default Dinner in your stateroom? Formal Night Dinner?

Well Hurricane Charlie and then Hurricane Frances have caused us to be "not so ready" for our cruise next Sunday (9/12) on the Mariner of the Seas.

So, we likely will not have the "formal" attire needed for the formal nights.

We were thinking of doing dinner in the specialty restaurants where we can wear a polo and pants, or the windjammer. But, I want to have lobster! :-)

Can you get a meal from the main dining room sent to your stateroom???

Or, is there lobster available at the speciality restaurant?

Just curious!

Robert

No lobster on the menu from room service

I've read messages from folks who've said that the evening's dress code applies to the main dining room as well as Portofino and Chops. You might want to factor that into you considerations.

I am fairly certain that the dress code applies to all venues except a buffet if it's offered or your stateroom. I have found dress in specialty rests. to be very close to the suggested dress or even dressier. You could always rent a tux on board....Sorry your prerps were curtailed but hope you have a great trip!

On Royal Caribbean you can request the dining room menu from your cabin steward, and order from the FULL menu for delivery to your cabin.

We order room service for dinner one evening and were able to choose from what they were serving in the dining room, although that evening wasn't lobster.

If you're sailing on the Mariner, don't worry, Lobster is not served on formal night.

Lobster on formal night seems counter-intuitive... it's pretty messy to eat, when done correctly.
