Default Panama Canal 10/11 verses 12/14

Brillance 10/11 PC or Serenade 12/14 day. Hubby and I will celebrate our 5th Wed aniv next year and we want to the PC. We live in FL so we can drive to Miami at 10 hour drive so that would decrease the airfare, but if we went out of San Juan we would add airfare which would run about $600. For those who have done both which did you like better?

Brilliance was a fun trip--lovely ship--since it's the same ship layout why spend the extra money for Serenade--plus cruising from Miami sounds better than San Juan-- Although Brilliance was not a complete canal transit we experienced the Gatun locks--very impressive & then tendered off for a very nice excursion to the Gamboa Aerial Tram. Weather was hot & sunny in March--it was a long ride to the tram & resort but we did get to see more of Panama than had we just stayed on the ship. There was nice shopping as you return to the pier--with colorful dancers. Other ports were lovely as well, Gr Cayman where we snorkeled, Aruba where we took a catamaran to some beachhotels & Costa Rica.--do not miss the Tortoguero Canal trip through the cruiseline! We enjoyed the ship except for a lazy cabin steward & too many unsupervised children....it was Easter week! Anyhow--if you want any other info let me know. I may post a review & photos if time permits!
