Default New -Voyager Ship

We were on the Explorer of the Seas7-03-05 and was told by staff that Royal Caribbean is coming out with a "Ultra" Voyager, twice the size of the original ship and should be ready for sailing sometime in 2006. Did anyone else hear about this or have have any information on this new ship?

That would be the Freedom of the Seas - pretty much already booked for her initial voyages I believe.

Hi Lou,
Yes, that would be the new Freedom of the Seas.

We already have a group Cruisemates cruise planned for that ship, here are the details:

Cruisemates Freedom Frolic, Sept. 10th, 2006

Both myself and Mary Lou would love to have you join us and see this new ship close up.

Hi Fitzla,
We're booked for the Sept. 10th of next year....yea, its exciting not knowing exactly what this ship will be like, but I have a feeling I will love it. I absolutely love the pic of the hot tubs....and the kids pool. We also have a cabin on the back again, so I hope its as nice as the other RCL aft balcony cabins..

Oh Donna, I am so glad you mentioned that. Will you please help me to be totally sure that I will love the aft cabin. We are booked into 7408 and I am totally nervous. Tell me everything about your experience. The things I am concerned about...1) Engine Noise and Vibration 2) only having a view out the back and not being able to see out to the side. Although, I will like having a larger balcony. Please let me know what your thoughts are.

It was orginally the ultra voyager..then changed that name real quick.........to the freedom of the seas. Ship don't matter.... As far as, the aft......you can not and will not go wrong....I will not sail any other way again......AFT is the way. Forget the sides, you are aft...you have sides and it all. Vibration........if you feel it, it would be only when you are sleepling.......and it's nice. Loved it.

It was the Ultra Voyager Class pre-construction, and once the ship was Officially named, they gave it the Freedom of the Seas name, and the class became the Freedom Class. They only called it the Ultra Voyager until the official naming.

fritzla: There is nothing to be nervous about regarding and aft cabin....you will love it. IMHO, they are the best cabins on the ship! Enjoy.

Hi Fritzla,
I've never noticed any more vibration or noise being back there at all. Ours is on a corner, so we'll get a side view too. Its just wonderful to sit on your balcony and watch the wake, I think you'll love it.
