Hi nnnnn,

I wouldn't worry about it! They may hear something, but hey, they actually did the same thing or your hubby wouldn't be here!

If you're really curious, put a glass to the wall

Glass to the wall?? I dont want to hear ANYTHING from their room either.
We are looking forward to the cruise but I just dont want to be embarassed at breakfast the next morning. My hubby says " who cares" but some will agree that having your husbands grandparents next door is a little uncomfortable.
So is it safe to say that you cannot hear much from cabin to cabin unless it is really loud.

Default noise between cabins

I never noticed any noise from the cabin next door (and we had an adjoining door), but the motion of the ship (radiance ot sea) made our door and ceiling squeek at times like something was going on.....

The only noise I've ever noticed from the cabins next door has been the blow drier or the door opening/closing. I think you can sleep (or something) more easily now.

I wouldn't worry about it now. Ships in the past had very, very thin bulkheads (walls) and the CD's would joke about the groom of a newleywed couple who accidentaly stuck his foot right through the wall. I doubt that this really happened, (could have however). To reiterate, the only noise I've ever heard from the ajoining cabin has been hair dryer, very, very loud T.V., and doors slaming.
Sail away, and have a great time.
Ken

If you are worried, just put the TV on to drown out any sounds. Then you can honestly say, "It must have been the TV".

Good point, Carol. There is usually a music channel. Better yet, I always bring my own. Used to be portable CD player and all my CD's. Now even better my I-POD with over 1000 songs and the speaker set for it. I have music for every mood and play it LOUD!

My wife just puts a pillow over my head. That could explain the additional life insurance and recent amorous behavior.

Seriously, I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as you don't get EXCESSIVELY loud you won't have too much to worry about. Leave the TV on and do what comes naturally. Grandma and Grandpa may be the ones that make more noise.

Take care,
Mike

That is exactly what I was going to say!

On our one cruise, our friends were in the cabin next door. When she heard me moaning she thought it was wild and crazy goings on instead of me having horrid pain from a thown out back!

Michelle..those of us that have back problems know the difference between a scream of passion and a scream of pain from your back !!! ergardless of whether the music/tv is loud or not

you can't do both at the same time (VBG)

Well, I have to disagree with those who say you should just turn your TV up loud. We just got off the Infinity, and the jerks next door came back to their cabin (we had a connecting door) and turned their TV on to watch what ever crap was on TV. It was 2:00 or 2:30 in the morning. They must have had a hearing disorder, or maybe they wanted us to share in their TV choice.

At any rate, you should have some consideration of those who may be trying to sleep in the next cabin.

You don't have to turn it up loud. That WOULD be inconsiderate.

I was on Voyager of The Seas with my parents in the next room with an adjoining door and you could hear EVERYTHING. You might want to be a little quiet!
Have fun!!!

if you are so worried call the cruise line and request a different cabin on the same floor close by if they have one. Then when you check in to your rooms act all innocent and say they must have moved us for who knows what reason!!

Seriously? Change rooms. Get one across from them or one with another room between you guys. Ummmm...not sure how to be tactful, but really "loud" vocal noises just might carry...

Turn the TV on fairly loud-then all they hear is the TV!

Make sure you don't have a connecting cabin with them. You can usually hear everything going on in the connecting cabin next door. So long as you don't have a connecting cabin, turn on the TV and have fun.

Im not sure if RCCL has improved their wall thickness, but the last time I was on a RCCL ship was almost 15 years ago and we were in a room next to a bunch of young girls. I think the parents were in one room and put their teenage kids in another, the one next to us. We heard a constant giggling from the girls and lot of laughing at all hours of the night! Hopefully this next cruise that Im on isnt so noisy!
