Age requirement to travel with friends

My friends and I are planning to go on a cruise, and I was wondering how old do we need to be to travel on a cruise without a parent. We are all 17 or 18. Any advice to this question would be great! Thanx!

On most cruise lines you have to be 21 or older, or married, to cruise without a guardian.

Under 21 you'd need someone 25 or older in the cabin.

On Princess cruise line you can book yourself if you are 18 or older.

Under 18 you'll need a parent or guardian with you.

No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be booked in a stateroom unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older. This age limit will be waived for minor children sailing with their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms or under-aged married couples (proof of marriage is required). Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to ask for proof of age. Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines his or her status for the entire cruise vacation.

From the Princess site:

The minimum passenger age is 6 months on Alaska, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Europe, Mexico and Transcanal cruises, and 12 months on all other cruises. Passengers under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a Passenger over the age of 21.
