Default Online Booking & Luggage Tags

I booked a cruise online directly with RCCL and was wondering if after completing the set sail pass, do they mail you any information and/or luggage tags? I saw mention of color coded luggage tags. Do they hand them out at the pier when you are unloading the luggage out of your vehicle?

Yes, you will be handed luggage tags by the porter as you unload your luggage from the car.

So now you have to stand on the curb fishing for a pen and fill-out luggage tags?

Yes Sir, that about sums it up. Fortunately all you have to put on them is the room number and not all the name and address stuff. As for finding a pen, the absence of one usually only happens to us once

My last cruise ended last Sunday and I'd give anything to have to go searching for a pen this weekend

If the cruise you booked is far enough away you will receive your cruise docs by mail and your luggage tags will be inside the doc folio with your name and stateroom number already printed on them for boarding.

Also, since you filled out the information on line for the set sail pass, all that information will be on your cruise docs when you get them. Those usually arrive anywhere from 2-4 weeks prior to your cruise. Inside the folder will be enough luggage tags for all your checked luggage, don't put any on the bags you carry on yourself. If for some reason, there aren't enough, just ask for extra when you arrive at the pier.

Once there, hand over your checked luggage to the porters there, tips them a few dollars per bag and they will be delivered to you cabin later in the day.

Happy Cruising!

Take a pen and all your cruise info; look at your online docs that you printed; towards the end of the docs they show you how to fill out the luggage tags (there is a pdf file associated with your reservation that you need to print); the hard part is finding the tags at the dock; we were directed to several different individuals and 25 minutes later found the tags (were not color coded) filled them out at the curb and prayed they made their way on board. They did. The next time I go, I will not opt for the online ticket but select that the tickets be mailed to me. It was easier that way, I thought online would be easier but it wasn't. On the next to last night, they provided the color coded tags for the debarking process.

We have filled out tags at the pier, and they have always had pens for us. It wouldn't hurt to bring one if you want, just in case.

Don't spend the time doing this, they will have them at the pier.

As long as you have your documents and have printed your SetSail Pass (you really don't have to have it, but it saves time), you are good to go!

Have a great cruise!
