Default Opinions on Radiance of the Seas?

I don't see any recent reviews of the Radiance of the Seas. We're considering booking for next year, and would like to hear some comments about the ship (pros and cons). Things that we are especially interested in hearing about are the Solarium, Windjammer and other casual dining venues, favorite entertainment venues. Links to menus would be great too!

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

You can't go wrong with any Radiance class ship, they are beautiful. Nice size and still plenty to keep you busy, just not all the activities as a Voyager or Freedom. I love the way the Windjammer is set up and the decor. I would consider this ship for sure.

We did the Radiance in 06.01. It was a Pacific Coast cruise from Encinada to Vancouver. If this wasn't her first cruise, it sure was close to it.

The ship is very nice. I liked the ouside glass elevators. We had a balcony cabin which was also nice. All the crew and staff were great.

The ship is not a "mega-ship", but she is pretty big.

The only knock I had was the the food was never cooked right. The kitchen just did not have its act together. I think this was due to the fact that this one one of her first cruises.

Outside of that, 5 stars from me.

Did R/T Hawaii on her in Sept and the passengers have been marring up the ship a bit BUT I still lover her! That was my sixth cruise on her and have thrown in cruises on the "Jewel and Serenade" too (sister ships). I HIGHLY recommend this class of ships. We just got off the "Golden Princess" yesterday (11-22) and although a nice ship, I missed the openness of the Radiance class ships (not to mention the "Concierge lounge" as a "Diamond" perk).

My wife and I did the Radiance in 2005 and we did one of her sister ships the Seranade in Jan. 2006 Both are beautiful ships. The Radiance OTS is my personal favorite. The service is tops. The food to me is always good. When we want to get aditional meals the windjammer is a great choice for eating and getting a nice view of the ocean. The smell of the food as you walk by Chops or Portofinos is enough to make your mouth water. You can't go wrong cruising on either of these Radiance class ships. Enjoy.

Have fun; this is a beautiful ship; don't forget to go to the Viking Crown lounge for a peek at the looking glass

Okay, I have a correction to make, the looking glass is on deck 12 in the Crown & Anchor lounge (I owe this correction to a fellow cruisemate, who certainly seems to have his details nailed down. )
