Interested in the Tequilla Tasting Excursion in Cozumel. Has anyone done this excursion? If so can I get your comments? Thank you

yeah haven't been on the board in a while, but this subject definitely caught my eye! This may be a reason to book a western caribbean cruise itinerary!

I think getting a catheter medically attached would be a good idea before signing up for this excursion!

Ok I did not go on this excursion however I sent my husband and 2 of his friends. They all agree that this was one of the best things they did on our cruise. According to them it is a 5 star not to be missed. You taste only the top brands of tequila, and learn about how it is made. Mr. Sanchos is where it is held. You can make your reservation through his site. Also notice that there is lots to do there for the whole family. Here is the site:
http://www.mrsanchos.com/mr_sanchos/restaurant.htm

Hope this helps.

Thank you Sun4u2. Questions for you about the tour. Does Mr Sancho's pick you up at the cruise terminal? Is there an extra cover charge to use the beach once you are there?

Yes they pick you up at the peir and if you book the tour you can enjoy the beach however I believe the charge for massages and use of their jet skies etc... I checked their web site and it seems to be limited. I would email them and see if things are changing. We also took the cooking class when we were there in July had a ball (open bar ) and they too had massages on the beach, beach access etc. I can look up the name if Mr. Sanchos can't help you.

San4u2 thank you for your imput. I emailed Mr Sanchos and haven't heard anything yet. Between the Cooking class and the tequila tour, which would you recommend? How long is each class? What time do you go? I also see you are going on Brilliance of the Seas to Panama. You will love this cruise. Any questions feel free to ask.

Depends on who is going. As I said we sent our husbands on the Tequila tasting but they drink margaritas every Friday night so they were very excited about finding out more bout their favorite libation. Then in July my husband and I took the cooking class together and we had a ball. Neither of us are gourmets but we both enjoy Mexican food. And this is not your American verision of Mexican food. After you are done cooking you are free to enjoy thier facilities just like Mr. Sanchos. We opted for the massages on the beach and they were heavenly. So as to which one I would recommend.... take a poll with those who will be going on the excursion. Both have age restrictions, I don't know if you will have anyone younger with you? My husband is telling me to tell you if you like tequila you need to go on the Tequila Tasting.

As for Panama I am looking at several different excursions once again we will be traveling with our friends and children. I am looking into Tortuguera Canel Touur with Oscar Brown Tour. I have been reading about a Chocolate Tour. Trying to figure out what to do in Aruba and also looking into the Grand Cayman. We where there last year and did some snorkling and took the Thriller boat ride. So we are looking for something different anything you can suggest would be great! Thanks ahead of time.

We L O V E tequila After telling my husband what you had written, we will go on this tour (If Mr Sachos ever emails me back)
As for other tours, I am not familar with the person you are taking the canal tour with. In Panama we did the Panama canal and Indian tour. It was nice, but wouldn't do it again. We saw from our room parots fly over us and before we left dock there were dolphins swimming around the back of the ship. When going threw the locks make sure you get out early for a good spot in the front of the boot. We were on deck 5 or 6 and it wasn't very growded. Most people want to be on the very top. This is the most wonderful experience you will encounter. Your kids are fortunate to have the chance to see this. Aruba we have been there twice. Both times we rented a jeep and went out on our own. If you want to snorkel, get out early before the crowd. Grand Cayman, again we rented a jeep and went to the town Hell and stopped along 7 mile beach and snorkeled. Would not rent a jeep again. Driving on the left side of the hywy is stressful This time we are doing the sting ray city tour with Mr Marvins.
Costa RIca we went rafting. What an experience. Would not advise small children to go. Don't forget to shop in Costa Rica at the market. At the very last minute you can bargin. We came back with a suitcase full of beautiful wood bowls ect. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the info. my children will be 17 and 19 on the cruise and the 17 year old is 6'4" and a lacrosse player... nothing phases him... it would be me screaming... I told my husband what you said about shopping and he is trying to figure out how he can meet you for the Tequila Tasting instead Oh well he will just have to taste at home and enjoy the frozen libations on board... Hope you have a great time. Please let me know if you enjoyed the tastings.

San4u2, I have emailed 6 times with no response. Do you have any idea another way I could get in touch with Mr Sanchos? Thanks

Well, I think it will be the cooking class. Is there an open bar while you cook? And I see there is wine served with you meal? Does each person have there own station to cook. I can't cook together with my husband He a better cook then me. What time did the class start and end? Thanks for your help.

First yes it is an open bar. Just don't do like I did and keep setting your drink down on the cooking area the have a small shelf off to the side for drinks. No limit . Yes you cook at the same station and we had a ball. We booked this one through Royal Caribbean so the timing was early. We had massages on the beach after all the hard cooking in class. Then we ended up shopping in Cozemel on our way back to the boat. But hubby and I aren't big shoppers. We enjoy it but feel we have seen most things in a couple of hours...I will look for the name of the place we went and see if I can find their web site.
