Default Independance......

We have booked the Independance for March 09, Eastern Caribbean. Has anyone heard anythng interesting about this ship yet? One thing that I have heard is that at least one of her swimming pools will be heated at least for the cooler climates anyway.

We are scheduled for April 09. I have also heard about the heated pool (which, I think, requires fresh water). Other than that, I don't think there are any other changes from the other Freedom Class ships.

There will be 12 (so far) of us sailing on Independance of the Seas this December 13th for an Eastern Caribbean destination wedding cruise. The bride and groom will be getting married in St. Thomas. Nearly all of us have been on Liberty of the Seas and just LOVE the Freedom Class ships. I'll keep an eye on this board for feedback from the maiden sailing (usually the best party on the seas). I'll also provide feedback from our sailing since several of you won't sail until 2009.

Yes, it is true that Independence of the Seas will be the first Royal Caribbean ship to feature heated, freshwater pools. Everything else (other than the biggest passenger ship afloat size) will mirror It will home port in Ft. Lauderdale only during the winter months.

Has anyone seen any recent picture of the Independence? I have heard that it will be ready to sail 2 weeks early.

Silly me....at first glance I thought it was tomorrow. But, I bet you wish it was as close as tomorrow. In the grand scheme of how fast time passes, next year will be here before you know it

You got that right. It's hard to think Christmas was over 2 months ago already!
