I've heard that it's possible to obtain a room upgrade when you check in on sailing day. Any tips on getting a better room with Royal Caribbean? We have an ocean view room on our next cruise but the price upgrade to a balcony room was $1000 for our next sailing, I'm looking to get an upgrade cheaper, any ideas????
Highly unlikely in getting an upgrade once you arrive on the ship. Best way to get one, is calling your travel agent and finding out what the upgrade would cost. Always book a cabin you'd be happy with or better yet, book a guarantee cabin catagory and you'll know the catagory you will get and possibly a better one. Its rare to find an upgrade once you are on the ship, just doesn't happen.

We just got off the Vision of the Seas yesterday and one of the couples sitting at our dinner table got upgraded when they boarded. Husband told me that if the ship is not sold out AND you are one of the first ones to get to the Guest Relations desk, you may get one.
He also said that if there were six or more people in line to forget it.
We had a great cruise, BTW.
