been reading away I know you can't bring wine or anything on board as far as I know but i also heard that you can wrap it in your cloths and they really don't check the checked in luggage - does anyone know how true this may be- and if caught what would they do ??
My friend wrapped 2 bottles of wine in bubble wrap and hid them in her suitcase, they were there when we unpacked.
You can have a travel agent purchase wine for you at a cheaper rate and have it delivered to your room. It's alot cheaper than buying it at dinner. Some ships charge a corkage fee if you bring it to the dinner table, but you can have ice brought to your room to chill the wine and open it yourself.
this topic has been talked to death on the boards........
the bottom line is this..........
royal caribbean has a strict alcohol policy, probably the most strict of all the lines. however, people do sneak it in, and are successful in doing so as you can see from the posts. however, they do tell you that you can be denied boarding for this. so, if you would like to try it, you can, but you must be aware of this. I have seen people at the ft. lauderdale port (btw, this was NOT SPRING BREAK) being stopped for trying to bring alcohol on board. the port authorities were going through their alcohol possessions with them right there, where we could all see it. i don't know how they tried to bring it on, and i'm sure that they probably weren't denied boarding. but, i'm just letting you know that i've seen them being more diligent about enforcing their own policies.

Personally...I would NEVER condone "sneaking" alcohol on board a cruise ship, where it is clearly prohibited....
That said....it really is better to go about this practice in a well thought out manner....
1. Don't sneak alcohol on when you embark...this is when it is searched for rentlessly.
2. Don't try to pack it in bags...it will be found most likely!!!
3. If one were to purchase, say, a 5th of rum (or 2) in a port, and put it in his/her pockets instead of the bag, then it probably will not be discovered! (make sure your husband takes of his watch, as this will set off the metal detector!)
Now, I am not advocating this malicious cheating of the cruise line...meerly putting forth a couple of scenarios!!! 8)
