We r considering cruising this ship and want input on best deck to stay in. we recently went on a carnival cruise and was on the lower deck and it was a nightmare. Will never do that again. Am considering promenade stateroom-any suggestions as far as front vs middle vs rear of ship. thanks
We had a corner aft stateroom on the Freedom. It was the one next to the presidential family suite, and the baclony was huge. I am not sure what deck that's on.
For the past several years, the aft balconies have become very popular..We absolutely felt no extra motion at this location.

Anything midship or towards the aft are good. When you are higher up, you are closer to the Windjammer, pool, sports deck, etc.. Can't go wrong up there for sure.
What was it about the lower deck cabin that you did not like? That may help lead you/us in the right direction for picking a better location this time.
Was it that you were so "low" that it was far to travel to your favorite spots on the ship? Was it the noise? Was it the motion (because lower is better for not feeling motion but you also need to be more toward the middle of the ship).
I just booked a Promenade stateroom on the Mariner for a September E. Carib cruise. I've never stayed in an inside before but the price was right and since it does have a window I thought we'd give it a try. Then I found some reviews and all were great - none were negative! You will probably enjoy it as well!

Life's a Beach ... enjoy it on a Cruise!
cruz addict in answer to ur question, it was the 24 hr noise from below (I understand it is where the crew stays). Sounded like someone was banging on a pipe. Other than that the location was okay (other than the fact that it took me 4 days into the cruise to finally get my bearing on where I was and where I needed to go; a little confusing). It was a carnival ship out of new orleans to cozumel.

Got spoiled on our first booking on the Adventure .... only thing left (and at great price!) was a Jr. Suite .... couldn't go down hill from there! We like the balcony and like being on top. We've sailed toward the back and in the middle. Motion never too much of a problem ... when it's rough, you feel it a little, but not enough to bother us. Never noticed pool noise or any other kind for that matter on The Adventure, The Explorer or The Freedom. Also like you can use the stairs just one flight up for the pool and one flight down for the Windjammer, nice when the elevators are full and/or slow. Works for us .... but everyone has their own preference.
