According to the brochure "All staterooms on Deck 8 have obstructed views" but to what extent it doesn't specify. But I will be able to tell you in two weeks. My wife and I leave on October 13th and have a cabin assignment on Deck 8.
DH and I were in cabin 8038, the view just had a portion of the front of a life boat on the right side and the left side has the little red motor boat so we had 95% ocean view. It was great and just a left turn off of the elevators first cabin of the hallway. It was quiet as can be to.. not a sound from the elevators. We were on the Sept. 19th cruise.
My wife and I just returned from the Majesty of the Seas. Our cabin # was 8586 which was the sixth cabin from the stern. The "window" was obstructed about half way down by a lifeboat but you could also see between lifeboats a well. Eventhough we were close to the Spectrum Lounge you couldn't hear anything. However we were just below the Boleros Lounge from which we did hear some music and people talking along the outer deck, but not enough to be concerned about.
