Default Balconies on Adventure of the Seas

Hi,
Does anyone know what kind of balconies they have on AOS? I was reading reviews and it said they don't have glass balconies, but metal ones with big holes!! Is that correct? We are going on AOS in Jan 2009 with a balcony room, so I am hoping the balcony doesn't feel like a box.
Thank You.

As a suggestion, you may want to try and find some pictures of the AOS, so you can see what the balconies look like.

We were just on her in October, and were in a mini-suite which has a balcony. You are correct in stating that there is no glass on the balcony. By glass I am referring to the portion of the balcony rail that is below the wooden portion of the rail, which allows you to see water when you are seated.

As well, the partitions between balconies are solid steel and have no openings either on top or on the bottom between balconies that we have seen on other ships. Finally, the outer edges of the balcony are like a race track in shape, not squared off (I cannot for the life of me think of the correct geometric term for this). Is it like a box, I don't think so. It's certainly more private than any we have been on previously.

Again, see if you can find some pictures.

I was just on the Adventure OTS in a D1 balcony. Te balconies are very private, here is a picture of ours.

Thanks. I looked up pictures online and it did help. It also appears that the balconies on deck 6 are more closed off than the others. We are booked on deck 8, so it doesn't matter. Thanks again!
