Default Uncomfortable beds....? What to do if a cabin has one?

Hi. From reading some reviews of ships, I occasionally come across this topic or warning that some beds that are too firm, too hard, or too worn out? I have been resorts and hotels and some may have bedding extra to make it better but some do not. Sincere I have never been on ship...who does one go to remedy this and what are your suggestions / options to deal with an uncomfortable bed? Thank you.

I don't know about Royal Caribbean, but Carnival's beds are so comfortable. You do not need anything extra on Carnival.

My last cruise on the Freedom, the beds were great, but, if you have any issues, ask for an egg crate foam topper..it worked well when I needed it.

The beds on Royal are comfy. I'm sure you won't have an issue.

Enjoy your first cruise! 8)

I've never had a problem with uncomfortable beds, you should be OK. I really can't handle ones that are too soft, theirs are nice and firm.

Default BTW, what does a ship steward do for you, anyways?

Hi. Besides the steward cleaning your room/cabin....and making funny towel animals...what do they do for you......do they bring up room service (the same person always) or do they do special request or what...I have no true understanding of their role. Can someone please explain, thanks.

[Hi JC,
No, room service staff are different from your cabin attandant. When ordering room service, just tip that person a few dollars.

Well, just having them clean your cabin in the morning and turning down the bed at night would be enough. They will also bring more ice if you need it, take care of your laundry/dry cleaning, and just about any other little thing you need done. They are also doing all of the above for several more cabins, so they really earn their pay.

In the days of uncomfortable beds, I would request a foam mattress topper. The beds now are really great, but you could still request the mattress topper.

If it's really bad, you can request a change of mattress, and they'll accommodate you. Sometimes just the eggcrate foam topper will be enough,,,or as someone else stated, you can sail on Carnival. They have all new, very comfortable beds. (Worst beds I ever had were aboard Celebrity, but it's been a while ago. Totally worn out, and like sleeping on a hammock)

I love the Granduer Ship.... This was my First Royal Carribean Cruise ........ The Granduer is an older ship, and smaller than the other class ships but its still Beautiful.

There is activities throughout the day continuous, you would never get bord that is forsure...the entertainment was spectacular, the Staff on the ship was amazing, (couldn't ask for a Happier Crew) WOW!!!!!!!!! not once did I see any of the staff in a mood or even catch a glimpse of any of them gossiping. Which is really good for Customer observation. One stafff told me that they are ALL FRIENDS.... and just One big happy Family.

Out of all the cruises that I have taken this one proved to be top notch. I don't think anyone would be disappointed on a RCI ship.

As for Singles..........Honestly I am not too sure what they have on board for them.... I know there was single ppl on this cruise but really didn't scope out what they where doing or what they where up too, as I was with a group of 10. Perhaps someone else can answer that question .

Do's and don'ts........???? I dunno..... I know that ppl smuggled in booze and got away with it and the cabin stewarts didn't care. (that wasn't me by the way) I also know that there was a drunk in the other hall from I and they put security at his door to keep him in place.....()he was very obnoxious, and loud. )

QUESTIONS for you: WHO is or will be Travelling with you?????
What age group is travelling?
And what is it that you are looking for on this ship????

Maybe you can post a site, in regards to a question like this and you will be able to get more responses from others.....that are single....

Good Luck...with your search.

Happy Sailing

Default bed comfort

I was just on the Navigator of the Seas in November (cabin 7532) and my bed was so hard. I barely slept. The pillows were really hard too.
I don't know if they can (or will) do anything about it.
