Default Ten years since we have been on RCCL - many changes?

Wife and I were last on Royal Caribbean in November, '08 on the Enchantment. Now are booked on the Independence of the Seas Feb. 7. Since it has been 10+ years since we have sailed on RCCL, I am certain there have been some changes. One thing we did appreciate was the free cokes at dinner. Is that still available? Any other changes we will find, good or not so good?

Never heard of any free cokes given out at dinner and I have been sailing with RCCL for the past 10 years. Bob

Our first cruise many years ago was on Royal Caribbean, and there was no charge for pop/soda. Those days are gone for good sad to say.

Yes, soft drinks were free......no more. The most changes are like that, more small things are charged for, but to me that is no big deal really. The up side is that the ships are much larger with many more fun things to do and see. The Independence will seem like a different world to you if you have not cruised for ten years.

Was just on "Indy" last month and if you like the large ship(s), you are in for a treat! Still had mints on the pillows and lobster tail on the last formal night (reference to prior threads).

We have actually cruised 15 times since 1998, just not on RCCL for that stretch. We love the larger ships, but I suspect the Carib. Princess (the largest we have been on so far) will seem small compared to the Indy. The ship will most definitely be the destination for me. I don't care it if just does circles around Coco Cay for 8 days!

I wonder if they have brought back mints fleet wide?

CQ, did the 8 nighter Dec 13-21. We don't write it off, but it was mainly to experience that class of ship for our customers. Was VERY impressed with the larger production shows but otherwise, it's still a LOT of fellow passengers.
