fitter638 . . . I will share the experience my wife and I enjoyed aboard the ms Noordam, Holland America, for our anniversary vow renewal ceremony.
I pre-booked, as a surprise for my wife! The event was scheduled for a sea day.
It was held in the afternoon, starting about 1600 hrs. I was notified by mail and a phone call to the cabin 2 days before( Due to the varying requirements of the ship the shore-side service cannot guarantee a specific date) My wife and I were joined by 3 other couples and we all gathered in an elegant room just off the Crows Nest lounge on the upper deck.
There was a string quartet, flowers, hors oeuvre's, a photographer and champagne. The Assistant CD, a lovely young lady from South America was our hostess. When we were all gathered she announced the arrival of the Captain. A charming and engrossing man who welcomed us and introduced himself to each of us individually. One by one, he called each couple to join him as he read a beautiful renewal of vows statement. Each couple received a copy along with a photograph. Afterward the Captain spent over an hour with us sharing his life and engaging us to share our stories of love and life.(Our hostess told us the Captain could only stay for 15 minutes! Surprise! He was enjoying himself!)
I hope you and your wife will enjoy your experience as much as we did!
